Glitch is the Soul in the Machine
Identity & Promotional Materials
Project.
Glitch is the Soul in the Machine is an international exhibition presented as part of the annual International Digital Media and Arts Association (iDMAa) conference. Featuring artists from around the world, the exhibition explores how digital technologies shape and influence our perception of reality. The project required a visual identity and exhibition catalog that could represent the exhibition consistently as it traveled between locations.
Solution.
The visual identity was inspired by exhibition curator Mark Amerika's Glitch Ontology manifesto-performance, "Glitch is the soul in the machine," which explores how contemporary art reveals the flaws and disruptions within our technology-driven culture. Distorted typography, fragmented graphic elements, and saturated glitch-inspired colors were used to reflect the exhibition's experimental nature while creating a bold identity that extended across the catalog and supporting materials.
